POSITION SUMMARY:

Movement of product throughout assigned area, including raw materials, in-process materials and finished goods. Cleaning of equipment and general production area. Participate in taking inventories. Proper disposal of metal chips, filings and scrap. Must ensure continuous Machine Operator up time.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Insure a continuous flow of materials to each machine.
  • Remove finished product from machines and move to proper storage areas or next scheduled operation area.
  • Must determine that proper raw materials are being used.
  • Provide accountability for quantities received in "rough", machined, and delivered to other area or to stock.
  • Insure that necessary operations have been completed prior to moving material.
  • Observe to detect problems with quality or mishandling.
  • Responsible for cleaning machinery and equipment.
  • Assist in taking physical inventories.
  • Continuously moving of raw material, work in process, and finished product for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

High School Diploma or GED. Good math skills.

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION:

Enforce company safety policies.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

*WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work in manufacturing environment

May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
