Job Title: Communications Associate
Location: 1430 Spring Hill Rd. Ste. 200 McLean, Virginia 22102
Hybrid, Request this person to report to HQ 3 days per week
SUMMARY
We're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Communications & Engagement Associate to help bring our brand voice and employee experience to life. Ideal for a communications professional with 2-4 years of experience, this role will support internal and external messaging, lead editorial content planning, and oversee branded swag, employee engagement, and charitable giving initiatives. You'll play a key role in reinforcing culture, building community, and connecting our people to purpose.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Draft, edit, and publish internal communications, including newsletters, leadership updates, intranet content, and employee spotlights.
* Support creation of external content such as press releases, blog posts, and thought leadership articles.
* Maintain a consistent brand voice and manage the integrated editorial calendar.
* Facilitate the company's editorial board and coordinate cross-functional content planning.
* Plan and support company-wide events such as town halls, happy hours, and culture-focused gatherings.
* Track and report engagement metrics for internal communication channels.
* Plan, source, and distribute company-branded merchandise for events, recognition programs, and seasonal initiatives.
* Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and inventory for branded swag and promotional items.
* Support employee engagement initiatives and serve as MARCOM's representative on the Culture Champions team.
* Coordinate charitable giving programs, community partnerships, and cause-driven campaigns.
* Promote philanthropic and volunteer efforts internally and externally to highlight employee and company impact.
* Track participation and outcomes for engagement and community initiatives to measure impact and guide improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
* 2-4 years of experience. Holds a degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism or related field.

* Writing & Editing: Ability to craft clear, engaging, and brand-aligned content for multiple audiences and channels.
* Project Management: Skilled at organizing tasks, managing timelines, and coordinating deliverables across teams.
* Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and across departments.
* Attention to Detail: Accuracy and consistency in messaging, formatting, and brand presentation.
* Creativity: Innovative thinking to develop fresh ideas for storytelling, employee engagement, and brand experiences.
* Multitasking: Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint), and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
* Event Coordination: Ability to plan, promote, and execute in-person and virtual engagement activities.
* Vendor Management: Experience working with external partners to deliver branded merchandise or event materials.
* Analytical Mindset: Capability to track engagement metrics, interpret results, and recommend improvements.

Strength Demands
* Light - 20 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs. A job is light if less lifting is involved but significant walking/standing is done or if done mostly sitting but requires push/pull on arm or leg controls.
