Job Overview
Quality Management System staff member(s) shall maintain the effectiveness and integrity of NSS's QMS by conducting internal audits, supporting external audits, generating nonconformity reports, verifying corrective actions, administering NSS's document repository using proper document control practices, reporting and monitoring departmental and system-wide performance metrics, all in accordance with ISO 9001 Standard and NASA and contract requirements. May perform assignments at SSC and MAF. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- While it is the responsibility of each employee to comply with all company policies and procedures, emphasis should be given to established safety and health requirements including but not limited to wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment and timely reporting of accidents and mishaps.
- Perform internal audits against ISO 9001 Standard on all work processes of the COSMIC contract, reporting results to auditees and senior management. Maintain internal audit schedule and roster of qualified internal auditors. Generate internal Corrective Action Requests from nonconformities and track to closure.
- Support external audits performed on behalf of NASA or on behalf of NSS. Coordinate and liaise with NSS's certifying body, as well as communicate audit agendas to workforce. Generate internal CARs on nonconformities and track to closure.
- Maintain NSS's document repository of forms, policies, procedures and instructions. Implement and enforce by strict document control practices in accordance with ISO requirements. Monitor documents for periodic review, maintain NSS's master documents lists.
- Respond to internal and external Corrective Action Requests generated by internal and external audit, inspection, and other surveillance activities. Craft appropriate responses using solid Root Cause Analysis methods, and coach process owners in doing so. Monitor progress of Corrective Actions and track to closure. Maintain records.
- Coordinate with fellow QMS staff member(s) to divide and accomplish overlapping duties.
- Act as NSS's primary GIDEP/NANADARTS Required Responder. Research and answer reusage of suspect, counterfeit, or nonconforming parts as notified in the GIDEP/NANADARTS systems. Support NASA Safety's GIDEP/NANADARTS program by participating in: Agency meetings and activities, SSC Safety Day, documentation efforts, recruitment and training events.
- Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions; and
- Comply with all applicable safety- and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures;
- All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) yrs. experience in management systems.
- Must have experience with MS Office products.
- Must be able to obtain or hold certificate for ISO 9001:2015 or AS9100D Lead Auditor.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
- Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Working Conditions:
- Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work.
- Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.

- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
