    Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) is entering an exciting new era in how we care for patients in our region. We are seeking a board-certified and visionary leader to serve as our system's Medical Director of Radiology. This role will play a pivotal part in our diagnostic and interventional radiology strategic planning to support the continued growth, innovation, and optimization of our radiology service line.

    As a member of our employed physician team, this physician leader will guide our radiology department in advancing imaging services, ensuring excellence in patient care, quality, safety, and clinical operations across the system. We've invested in state-of-the-art imaging equipment and technologies that improve our capabilities, including advanced PACS, voice-to-text recognition and communication systems, and a robust EMR supported by various AI and post-processing tools.

    Position Highlights
    • Oversee all radiology services, including diagnostic, interventional, and advanced imaging programs.
    • Drive quality, safety, and compliance initiatives within the radiology department.
    • Collaborate with hospital and system leadership to develop and implement imaging strategies and best practices.
    • Mentor and support radiologists, residents, and allied health professionals to foster growth and excellence.
    • Advance the capabilities of our service line by pursuing innovations in imaging technologies, workflow optimization, and patient-centered care initiatives.
    • Ensure that operations and staff maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
    • Partner with referring physicians to ensure timely, accurate, and collaborative diagnostic support.
    • Represent radiology services within the health system and to external partners, advancing MWHC's reputation for excellence.

    Qualifications

    • MD or DO with board certification in radiology.
    • Minimum of five years of post-training clinical experience; prior leadership experience is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage operations, and advance departmental goals.
    • Strong knowledge of health care regulations, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
