Ciena is looking for a Photonics Software Engineer LCM/REP to join our Modem and Photonics LCM team. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge optical communications technologies, develop innovative software solutions, and deploy them globally at manufacturing sites. How You Will Contribute:

• Develop automated test software, sequences, and instructions using C#, Cloud, and AI tools.

• Build, troubleshoot, and support test station automation for modems and photonics in production lines.

• Test alpha and beta prototypes in the lab to validate processes and optimize test methods for increased throughput.

• Support prototype development with tools and guidance for Repair, NPI, and LCM teams.

• Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to ensure robust testing of prototypes and production units.

• Create fault isolation tools, document troubleshooting guidelines, and scale test capabilities for higher volumes.

• Integrate test stations into Ciena's corporate manufacturing systems and adapt new technologies to enhance processes.

The Must Haves:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Hands-on experience in software development (C#/Python) and Cloud/AI tools.

• Expertise in test systems implementation, debugging telecom products, and working in Contract Manufacturer environments.

• Familiarity with laboratory test equipment and PCB schematic/layout tools.

• Proficiency in English (Spanish/Thai is an asset) and willingness to travel abroad occasionally.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software, Contract Manufacturer environments, or Test Engineering.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Security, Computers, Electronics).

The Assets:

• Experience with electro-optics secure product development and testing.

• Knowledge of Ciena's Optical Modem products.

• Curiosity and drive to experiment with new technologies to solve current challenges.

• Assertiveness to guide Contract Manufacturer engineers and technicians effectively.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this role in Canada is $88, 600 - $141, 500

The salary range for this role in the USA is $92, 000 - $147, 000
