| Details | The University of Iowa Health Care department of Rehabilitation Therapies is seeking a PRN Staff Educator to plan and implement academic and therapeutic instruction and document student progress. This position entails working on an inpatient psychiatric unit with children and adolescent patients with a mental health diagnosis.

 A Bachelor's degree in Education or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience1 - 3 years of teaching experienceExperience with students with challenging behavior in a school setting or similar work environmentExperience teaching social-emotional curriculumExcellent written and verbal communication skills

 Master's degree in EducationSpecial Education Certification in behavior disorders or a related field such as learning disorder, early childhood special education, or intellectual disabilitiesInstructional Strategist CertificationTeaching experience in special educationTeaching experience at middle and high school level with challenging behaviorsAbility to effectively and expeditiously communicate with patient's local schools to collect information on students' performance in school and to offer suggestions on how to best support students when they return to their school
