Job Title: Business Analyst
Location:
Pascagoula, MS

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our IT Department. This role supports the Business Relationship Management and ERP Programs team, serving as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will help gather and translate requirements, optimize business processes, and support the design and implementation of IT solutions that align with organizational strategy.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, supply chain, corporate, IT) and external vendors to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
  • Document, model, and streamline ship design, construction, maintenance, and logistics workflows using IT-enabled solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and presentations to gather user requirements and support solution design and prioritization.
  • Conduct gap analyses, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit assessments to identify inefficiencies and propose opportunities for digital transformation.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of specialized systems including CAD, PLM, ERP, and MES platforms.
  • Work closely with software vendors, developers, and IT architects to ensure system customization aligns with standards and business goals.
  • Assist in all project phases-planning, tracking, UAT, data migration, and post-implementation evaluation.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases, user stories, and related documentation for IT project approvals.
  • Maintain process documentation, training materials, and assist in change management and user onboarding.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in IT or software development within manufacturing, engineering, or shipbuilding environments.
  • Occasional travel to shipyard sites may be necessary for meetings, user engagement, or implementation support.

  • Strong grasp of business processes, systems architecture, and cross-functional operations.
  • Proficient in translating complex business requirements into technical specifications and workable solutions.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Proven success working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in shipyard or maritime/defense contractor environments is a plus.
  • Technical proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Visio, Office 365, ERP, and CRM platforms.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity and IT compliance specific to maritime/defense industries.
  • Strategic thinker with business acumen to align IT solutions with organizational goals.
