Inova Schar Cancer Institute is looking for a dedicated Urologic Oncology, Advanced Practice Provider to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will play a key role in supporting the growing Urologic Oncology program at Inova Schar Cancer Institute. Working alongside fellowship-trained urologic oncologists, medical oncologists, and a multidisciplinary team, the APP will provide exceptional patient care in the outpatient setting and contribute to the growth of innovative programs within the division. Surgical Oncology, APP Job Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, post-operative care, and basic urologic procedures for patients with bladder cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and other malignant urologic conditions
- Collaborate with surgeons to manage preoperative and postoperative care, including planning and executing evidence-based treatment protocols.
- Assist in outpatient clinics by performing consultations, follow-up care, and patient education.
- Conduct minor diagnostic or therapeutic procedures as credentialed and necessary for patient care.
- Collaborate with surgical oncology nurse navigators, outpatient and inpatient nursing staff, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care throughout the treatment journey.
Additional Requirements:
- Education: For Nurse Practitioners: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR a certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing; For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Certification: Basic Life Support upon start
Urologic Oncology, Advanced Practice Provider Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience, preferably in surgery, urology, or oncology
