Responsibilities

Hours for this role are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, either 10 hour or 12 hour shifts

As a vital member of our Admissions Team, you'll help weave together essential clinical data and ensure our patients receive the best care possible! In this role, you'll conduct engaging mental health clinical interviews, complete safety risk and diagnostic assessments, and integrate all the valuable insights you gather into our multidisciplinary admissions process. You'll even have the opportunity to provide provisional mental health diagnoses and help shape a patient's ongoing treatment plan!

This position calls for a creative thinker who loves collaboration and consultation with both internal and external interdisciplinary resources. Together, we'll coordinate admissions for all levels of care at PrairieCare, making a real impact in the lives of those we serve. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Consultation: Conduct diagnostic interviews and assessments and develop safety plans for patients when necessary. Maintain proficiency in effective patient de-escalation techniques, utilizing Collaborative Problem Solving , therapeutic self, relationship-based care, and trauma-informed care as relevant to the role.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate admissions to our programs, liaising with hospitals and other professionals to facilitate a smooth process for clients.
  • Cultural Competence: Bring an understanding of gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care to your interactions, ensuring that all clients feel respected and understood.
  • Team Support: Provide backup for therapists and perform other clinical duties within your scope as needed, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field is required. If your degree is in a closely related field and you are pursuing an LPCC, you must demonstrate that your education meets the coursework requirements of the license, either through your own comparison or an unofficial review with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
  • Licensure: Candidates must be licensed or actively pursuing clinical licensure in the state of Minnesota. This includes receiving clinical supervision and counting clinical supervision hours. An associate-level license in the State of Minnesota (LAMFT, LGSW, LPC) is preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in behavioral healthcare is preferred
  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Strong understanding of DSM-IV criteria.
    • Proficiency in interviewing and assessment techniques.
    • Professional demeanor in all aspects of performance.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with Clinical Directors and professionals in other organizations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Outlook.
    • Reliable transportation and telephone.
    • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.
    • Capacity to react quickly and calmly as part of a team in volatile and potentially emergency situations.
    • Strong decision-making skills in stressful circumstances.

Compensation for this role ranges from $29-$34 per hour, plus shift differentials, depending on education and experience.
