GENERAL SUMMARY: Licensed architect with a thorough knowledge of healthcare design who leads system initiatives on the design and construction of its' physical assets. Oversees design presentations, monitors project design development, and provides design direction and support to ensure consistent and high-quality design across the system. Must possess a
thorough knowledge of complete healthcare design and construction lifecycle.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Planning and Development of:
* Project Program
* Space Plans
* Conceptual Designs
* Final Design Documents
* Conceptual Design Estimates
2. Ensure preliminary design is compliant with:
* Michigan LARA
* MIOSHA
* State of Michigan Fire and Safety Codes
* CMS Requirements
* Michigan building Codes
* CON Requirements
3. Completion of design drawings and specifications
4. Developing, updating, and adhering to the following policies and procedures for
HFH:
* Space Standards
* Design Standards
* Capital Initiation Process
5. Participation in HFH Space Committees and act as a resource to operations and planning staff, alike
* Design Coordination with Interior Design Department
6. Initiating and supporting all departments in the Capital Initiation Process
* Coordinate Project Initiation with applicable Space Committee
* Ensuring participation and input from and Infection Control, Safety Committee, Radiation Safety, Campus Plant Engineering, and other appropriate affected departments
7. Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Bachelor Degree in Architecture 5 year or Masters in Architecture.
* More than 8 years experience in Healthcare Design with more than 5 years as the lead designer.
* Professional registration required.
* Training in all applicable Building Codes and Ordinances
* Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements related to hospital environmental safety.
* Self-directed and motivated; capable of motivating others.
* Working knowledge of healthcare operations and technologies that impact space and design.
* Effective collaborator; accountable for self and others, and willing to mentor others.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
* Experience with Rendering Software.
* Experience with Sketch Up.
* Experience with Auto Cad.
* Experience with Revit.
* Basic proficiency in medical terminology and a clear understanding of medical confidentiality.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
* Registered Architect in the State of Michigan is required.
* Lean design and process improvement a plus, but not required.
