PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $104,000.00-$126,900.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $80,800.00 - $150,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst at BECU, you'll transform data into strategic insights that directly influence the financial health of our members and the strength of our lending portfolios. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, guiding credit risk decisions through thoughtful analysis, effective reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Your expertise will help shape risk appetite, support lending innovation, and ensure we remain accountable to governance and regulatory standards. To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC or GA. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week.For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Drive Data Discovery: Collect and consolidate data from large databases across deposit, loan, and default populations to support robust credit risk analysis.

  • Reveal Trends Through Analysis: Develop actionable insights from data by identifying key subpopulations and risk trends.

  • Build Reporting Suites: Design and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reporting frameworks that monitor risk across the Consumer portfolio.

  • Validate Risk Processes: Investigate business processes and data accuracy through both analysis and collaboration with business partners.

  • Conduct Portfolio Analysis: Deliver in-depth evaluations of loan portfolios to identify risks, opportunities, and portfolio strategies.

  • Apply Predictive Techniques: Use statistical models to forecast potential outcomes of credit strategies, portfolios, and collection efforts.

  • Influence Risk Strategy: Partner with senior leaders to evolve BECU's risk appetite and support changes in credit origination, campaigns, collections, and loss mitigation.

  • Lead Key Initiatives: Take ownership of credit risk projects and department initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Mentor for Growth: Support the development of junior analysts by sharing knowledge, coaching, and encouraging high performance.

  • Promote Regulatory Compliance: Help ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, while supporting internal governance standards.

  • Maintain Process Documentation: Create and update written procedures for all assigned functions to support consistency and audit readiness.

  • Deliver Audit and Operational Reporting: Track and report on department metrics and ensure transparency through effective data storytelling.

  • Advance Advocacy Programs: Collaborate with internal and external partners to design initiatives that support employee and member success.

  • Pitch In as Needed: Contribute flexibly to evolving team needs and responsibilities to keep projects moving forward.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative or business field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of related functional experience in credit risk analytics.

  • Advanced experience using quantitative software and database querying tools (ex. SAS, SQL, Python).

  • Advanced experience using presentation development software (ex. Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree.

  • Experience in auto and/or other secured credit risk analytics.

  • Experience in the financial services industry.

  • Demonstrated experience building cohesive cross-functional teams and facilitating collaborative decision making.

  • Previous project management experience.

  • Previous experience with analysis of portfolio performance and articulating results and desired outcomes from a risk management perspective.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect pertinent data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions as well as formulate ideas and recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.) with the ability to learn new software quickly.
