We are seeking a strategic and solutions-oriented professional to manage capabilities that support product innovations, delivery and business operations. This role focuses on designing, developing, and overseeing services and functions that are sold externally and through UHG. You will align capabilities with business and product strategies, monitor market trends to inform future direction, and ensure sustainable, impactful solutions that drive adoption and performance across our Ancillary Benefits Management product portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed
  • Build, maintain and prioritize a capability/product backlog to innovate our ancillary benefits management automated policy enforcement capabilities
  • Work with the product managers to influence and guide a prioritized roadmap through the capability life cycle of strategy, OKR/KPI alignment, definition, and delivery
  • Own the creation of features and participate in Agile Scrum process alongside product owners and scrum team to ensure business vision and needs are accurately implemented and meet market expectations
  • Work with cross-functional business stakeholders to define/design industry leading, innovative solutions, and ensure alignment with the enterprise strategies and priority (e.g., capital/funding commitments, revenue commitments, capabilities, functional impacts, cross-functional roles)
  • Drive incremental value of capability through analytic and reimbursement policy development
  • Work across teams (e.g., engineering, product, experience design, content, sales) and build partnerships to solve a myriad of complex user experience problems in creative, thoughtful, and scalable ways
  • Oversee the development of your capability and be responsible for completion and deployment of experience to the production environment, navigating the organization to remove roadblocks and communicating with transparency
  • Work with cross-organizational products, dependent capabilities & capability managers to understand their strategic priorities
  • Performs complex conceptual analyses
  • Support the product by coordinating and driving to resolution product issues as they arise ensuring understood issue priority and communicating appropriately with transparency
  • Support operations, product, and go to market teams as a SME in our ABM solutions
  • Elicit and document intersegment client business requirements and work with product and support teams to ensure understanding and appropriate configuration and testing of requirements
  • Work alongside the UHG market team to help coordinate products are successful and consistently enhanced for ISA clients

Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization
  • 7+ years of Healthcare Industry experience (Healthcare reimbursement, claims adjudication, procedure/diagnosis coding knowledge)
  • 7+ years of experience using data to analyze opportunities and outcomes to drive decisions
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing with Clients
  • 2+ years of experience interfacing at the Executive level
  • Experience utilizing solid collaboration and communication skills to work effectively in a virtual environment
  • Experience utilizing solid organizational skills
  • Proven excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to work with an emerging solution that involves ambiguity and flexibility



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Aha and Rally
  • Familiarity with Optum Payment Integrity solutions/business
  • Familiarity with UHC and Optum Care business structures and processes

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
