ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Works on design of, reviews installation of, and routinely inspects AECC power plants.
  • Participates in power plant, repowering and market performance studies and in other matters relating to this area of responsibility.
  • Assists in research for and writing of technical reports.
  • Assists with the monitoring of operations and maintenance of jointly-owned plants as directed.
  • Manages vendors and contractors, performs quality reviews, schedules internal resources and performs other related project management duties as needed to complete assigned projects.
  • Develops bid documents, reviews proposals and makes recommendations for supplies and services in support of engineering projects.
  • Advises other staff members, power plant managers, AECI personnel, and member cooperatives' personnel upon request of facts relating to this area of responsibility and assists them in the performance of their duties in times of need as directed by the Manager-Production Engineering.
  • Solicits assistance of other staff members to perform all work within their capability.
  • Maintains contact with personnel of like responsibility in other power supply systems to exchange technical information and to cooperate in projects of mutual interest.
  • Keeps abreast of related current scientific developments and governmental regulations and uses every opportunity to become better qualified in this area of responsibility.
  • Keeps the Manager-Production Engineering informed at all times of matters important to the cooperative, particularly where member cooperatives or other power suppliers or governmental agencies are involved.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.
  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering plus 0-1 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to take Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination



REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • Valid driver's license



PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS



  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Arkansas

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION



  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
  • Knowledge of power plant processes preferred with general utility experience desired.
  • In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes.
