Job Summary

VSolvit is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support a mission-critical government program. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing strategies for complex software systems. You will contribute to enhancing the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications by implementing robust and scalable test automation frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have experience building automation frameworks from scratch, proficiency with modern automation tools and scripting languages, and a strong understanding of testing methodologies in both on-prem and cloud environments. This position requires attention to detail, independent initiative, and the ability to work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases for enterprise-level applications.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including regression, performance, load, stress, functional, and interoperability testing.
  • Write comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports for both manual and automated testing efforts.
  • Collaborate with development teams and product owners to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in code and test reviews to ensure best practices in testability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, contributing to the implementation of quality standards and metrics.
  • Document defects clearly and track them through resolution using tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
  • Support integration and deployment processes in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Provide surge support for other programs as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience designing and executing automated test scripts in Windows-based environments
  • Strong proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright
  • Proven ability to develop test automation frameworks from the ground up
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming languages; JavaScript or TypeScript preferred
  • Understanding of TDD (Test Driven Development) and/or ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development) methodologies
  • Experience testing commercial web-based applications and systems integration
  • Ability to develop test scenarios for black-box, white-box, and regression testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and work after hours/weekends if needed
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (active clearance highly preferred)
  • Must possess a current CompTIA Security+ Certification or obtain it within 30 days of employment
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working with COTS applications in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with Jira and Azure DevOps for defect tracking and task management
  • Prior experience with logistics, supply chain, or defense-related systems
  • Proficiency with cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus
