The Clinical Support Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for assuring the quality of clinical service is maintained through evaluation of Compensation and Pension (C&P) document requests and approving Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) order requests. Based on contract guidelines, the CSC determines the appropriate Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQ) to assign to specified health conditions identified during order request review or if clarification is warranted. Accurate review of the Veteran's claims file and correctly labeling relevant evidence ensures pertinent information is identified during claims file bookmarking, alerting Practitioners and allowing timely and accurate completion of the DBQs by the examiner. The CSC is responsible for timely work, positively affecting the life-cycle of the order. Through specialized task work the CSC will collaborate with subject matter experts (SME), CSCII, Leads, and Supervisors to ensure completion of work aligns with established production and quality standards to align with contract guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Conduct accurate and timely review of records
  • Evaluate and interpret order requests
  • Quality set-up of order request to aid Practitioner in exam review
  • Claims file review and identification of relevant evidence
  • Quality claims file bookmarking to aid Practitioner in exam review
  • Request clarification for errors and/or requests not meeting contractual requirements
  • Identify trends of new or changing order items
  • Participates in projects and team meetings
  • Perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Conduct task completion via automated workflow

Required Qualifications:



  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Vocational or Technical Training/Education in a Medical related field such as Medical Assistant, LPN, Health Information Technology (HIT), EMT, Medic, Corpsman, or completion of the following 4 courses: Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Human Body Systems, and Common Diseases or equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered

The hourly range for this role is $19.86 to $38.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
