Summary:
Oversees and mentors security staff members to include scheduling, assisting with performance reviews, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed properly.
Responsibilities:
1. Determines and coordinates staffing needs for assigned shifts. Ensures each staff member is properly prepared for duty and reports any discrepancies and/or malfunctioning equipment.
2. Issues written and oral instructions. Assigns duties and monitors performance and conformance to policies and procedures.
3. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of staff. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
4. Performs or assists staff in performing safety and/or security duties. Responsible for securing coverage for any shift unable to be covered.
5. Assists the Protective Services Manager with completing all annual competencies and requirements accurately and timely. Meets scheduled deadlines.
6. Implements work plans for assigned Squad.
7. Integrates services provided within Protective Services and with other departments throughout the organization. Assures the implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support Protective Services.
8. Participates in performance improvement activities.

Education Requirements:
* Associate's degree (A. A.) from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* NCDL and CPR Certification Required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* WIth an Associate's degree: one (1) year of related experience and/or training.
* With a high school diploma: five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
