Summary: The Human Resources Generalist performs the day-to-day tasks of the Human Resource department and manages the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, data integrity, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and employment.

- Assist employees at Day Wireless Systems & Reliance Connects in HR matters - employee relations, benefits and policies and procedures.
- Work with the safety department on administrative tasks related to workman's comp
- Assist HR Manager with employee benefit programs by conducting benefits orientation, advising employees, resolving issues, conducting periodic audits of benefits programs/EDI file feeds, providing and posting pertinent benefit material and updates.
- Prepare, recommend and maintain records and procedure for initiating and managing personnel transactions and documenting and securing personnel data.
- Administer employee appreciation and wellness programs.
- Support our leave administrators when employees apply for family medical leaves per federal and state laws, as well as other leaves of absence, as requested.
- Manages compliance posters for all shop locations
- Responds to unemployment claims, processes claims, and participate in hearings.
- Investigates and performs fact finding of employee relations issues such as disciplinary actions, personal conflicts, performance, compliance with company policy, company procedures, and federal and/or state law.
- Advises employees and management in company and department policy and procedures as well as applicable federal and state laws.
- Assist HR Dept. with onboarding, termination process, projects, reports, correspondence, and other activities as requested.
- Completes medium to large-size HR-related projects and audits.
- Handle employee relations counseling
- Other duties may be assigned.

- Occasional local travel (Portland-area)
Education and/or Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, management, human resources, psychology or a closely related field; and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery of human resources services; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
* Experience working with a union and administering workers comp is a plus
Licenses, Certifications:
* A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or a Senior PHR certification is preferred.
* A valid state driver's license will be required when driving company vehicles for assignments.
