Database Administrator, SQL

Tyler Technologies is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The Database administrator acts as the first line of support for troubleshooting and resolving SQL service and performance issues. The SQL DBA is responsible for the installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of the SQL database environment.

Responsibilities

• Installing and upgrading Microsoft SQL Server software.
• Configuring and tuning the database for performance and scalability.
• Managing and monitoring database security.
• Creating and managing database user accounts and permissions.
• Backing up and restoring the database.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
• Monitoring and optimizing database performance.
• Implementing and maintaining database replication and clustering.
• Planning for and implementing database schema changes.
• Collaborating with development team to optimize database design and queries.
• Maintain and monitor replication technologies.
• Create basic automation scripts (Shell, Perl or Python), Jenkins experience a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting, maintaining, and administering Microsoft SQL Server in an environment of 30 or more databases.
• Must be able to participate in on-call rotation.
• Should have experience in a 24x7x365 enterprise environment meeting uptime SLAs of 99.99% or greater.
• Strong experience with Windows environments, Linux environments a plus.
• Intermediate experience writing Shell, Perl or Python a plus.
• Experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL a plus.
• Experience performing system and/or storage administration and patching.
