Job description

Billerud is accepting applications for Mill Trainee Positions at our Escanaba, Michigan pulp and paper mill for future job openings. We are seeking individuals who desire a career with us and have the capabilities to advance within our mill. The mill is a 24/7 operation so candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

In person applications will NOT be accepted at Billerud. All communications will be done through email. During the process top candidates will be asked to submit an application and be sent to Michigan Job Works for testing. The final step will be the interview process.

Qualifications

Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime (days, nights, weekend, and holidays). Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time (i.e. lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling).

Personal qualities

Required Skills:

  • Minimum age of 18. High- School diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays) 12-hour shifts. Required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing and assessments.
  • 2 years' continuous work experience.

Preferred:

  • Post high school education.
  • Industrial experience.
  • Industry related certifications.
  • Experience operating industrial equipment.
