POSITION SUMMARY: To administer ionizing radiation treatments to patients in a variety of age groups in accordance with the prescription from the physician and supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist. EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved school of Radiation Therapy with a temporary license or graduate of an approved school with current and valid New Jersey license. EXPERIENCE: New graduates will be allowed time to pass the registry and may work on a temporary license. Schedule: Monday - Friday hours may vary SPECIAL SKILLS: Current State of New Jersey license as a Radiation Therapist required. Current National Registry in Radiation Therapy or National Registry in Radiologic Technology preferred. Current BLS Certification. Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes. Ability to work cooperatively with the health-system, patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members. Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
