The Center for Real Estate (CRE) at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business continues to make positive contributions to its missions of education, academic research and meaningful industry outreach to the academic and professional business communities. Professional and student educational programs serve as an important cornerstone of the Center's growth and vitality. Our faculty, students and affiliated professionals share a common interest in furthering understanding of the ways in which we can harness knowledge to create a sustainable future for the built environment.


Your Role on the Team

Leads the administration of the Center for Real Estate, a Center of Excellence of the Paul Merage School of Business. In this capacity the Managing Director will work closely with the Centers Academic Director to build community outreach, and research in the area of real estate. Will support operationally the Centers finance, human resources and facilities and other operational activities for small to mid-sized academic or research program. Administers major program components, and some or all of the program's operational requirements. Develops and organizes conferences and other public forums. Works under direction of the Academic Director to establish center agenda, funding, objectives.

Note: This is a one-year, 50%-time contract position with a potential for extension.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $40.90- $49.45 (Hourly).


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Fundraising experience.
  • Event planning and organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience involving administration, budgeting, human resources, fundraising, event planning and organization preferred.

Special Conditions:

  • Hybrid position with some onsite work expected each week.
  • Occasionally oversee events outside normal business hours
  • Some knowledge of the real estate industry.
