Summary: Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of hospitalized patients with teams of APPs residents and supervising attendings. Provides educational opportunities for medical students residents and other NP/PA students as appropriate. Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Masters of Science Degree or Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Demonstrates outstanding communication skills clinical care competency and ability to work well in teams. Demonstrates advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of family dynamics. EXPERIENCE: Two years related pediatric experience in acute care hospital setting and preferred 1-2 years* experience as an APP and will also consider new graduates WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: General hospital environment with occasional stressful conditions associated with patient care. INDEPENDENT ACTION: Responds to individual patient-care situations demonstrating knowledge and skills acquired through education certification and work experience. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
