Job Description

The Global Classification COE Manager will be responsible for leading the key initiatives and data analysis to further strengthen our trade compliance processes, drive standardization, financial performance, provide governance and guidance while reducing risk. The Manager will provide global leadership and direction for determining accurate and consistent classification data elements (HTS, ECCN, COO and FTA) according to global regulations and Rockwell Automation global policies. You will assist with internal training and auditing programs to support continuous improvement of the existing compliance program. This position will act as a liaison to RA business units, logistics, sourcing, legal, RA entities globally as well as interact with external service providers, customs brokers, Customs and other government agencies. Provides the necessary leadership to perpetuate and enhance the Rockwell Automation culture of providing superior quality and customer service as perceived by the customer. You will be reporting to the Global Trade Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Providing oversight, escalation, and leadership to daily operating activities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, implement changes required due to regulatory changes
  • Drive cost productivity (FTA's, US content rules, Steel and Aluminum derivatives)
  • Development of Direct Reports
  • Management of Trade Compliance related record retention
  • Assist in implementation and maintenance of Compliance Policies, Procedures and Manuals
  • Provide support for acquisitions during the due diligence phase.
  • Conduct and provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support classification of products globally (standard and Engineered to Order)
  • Support COO management for RA manufactured items, supplier solicitations as well as determine standards for multiple COO management
  • Manage global FTA programs
  • Oversee ADD/CVD cases, training and quarterly meetings
  • Manage department specific databases, automated processes and tools
  • Oversee broker requests via the Request for Information (RFI) process
  • Maintain or establish metrics for the department to identify areas of strength and improvement
  • Collaborate with Logistics, NA Trade Management, Legal and Sourcing as needed to align business strategies.
  • Support projects and special assignments as required
  • Provide support in connection with SAP and external system integrations.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree with five plus years of experience in relevant field for a high-tech company (e.g. International Business, Business, Trade Compliance, Import, Export, etc.)
  • SAP/GTS experience a plus
  • Deep knowledge of global customs regulation interpretation
  • Licensed Customs Broker a plus
