Description Acara Solutions has been providing semiconductor and other advanced manufacturing firms across the U.S. with our engineering and professional staffing services for over 60 years. Our semiconductor lithography machine client is looking for a Track (coater/developer) TEL/DNS field service engineer to join their organization as a direct salaried employee.
Ideally the candidate can work from their San Jose, CA plant, but working from home anywhere in the U.S. is acceptable. Extensive traveling to customers is required.
The basic function of the Senior Field Engineer is to perform and support customer
equipment service projects and service requirements, ensuring they are repaired in a timely manner while maintaining company's highest quality standards with available resources. The day-to- day interfacing and updates to customers and the service department manager. To provide onsite service support and expertise to customers and Service Technicians in diagnosing, analyzing, installing, servicing, and maintaining Canon photolithography equipment (steppers and scanners) while keeping with operational goals, objectives, policies and training procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
To provide technical onsite and phone support to customers and junior Service Technicians in the installation, service and maintenance of Canon photolithography (steppers and scanners) equipment. Provide accurate and detailed daily pass downs when working at customer sites. Provide formal and informal customer training onsite when needed. To ensure service tooling and testing equipment is maintained in good operational and accurate manner. To share professional service skills with other service technicians. To meet or exceed all project/service budget and profit objectives. Maintain the highest possible established quality assurance standards. Develop and/or implement service procedures with the Service Manager and other Service Technicians. Maintain awareness of all technical related trends, advances and improvements and determine the activities that could affect the Service Department. Continually strive to maintain state of the art technical knowledge of the business and semiconductor industry. Always interface with customers in a professional manner even in stressful situations. Continually solve problems as they arise. Function as a troubleshooter, resolving all potential problems before they can have a negative effect on the Company's operational efficiency and reputation. Consult with the customer and technicians and use proper judgment when replacing parts (not to
replace parts too soon or too late). Meet with customers, as needed, regarding questions, specifications proposed/actual schedules and daily updates with written pass downs. Be alert to customer opportunities to provide/change equipment, spare parts, upgrades and services currently not provided, which can benefit the company. Respects and maintain the confidentiality of company information To ensure field reports are accurate and complete. To perform any other duties that may be assigned from the Service Manager. Maintained a positive company image when interfacing with customers and vendors. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering. But they will consider candidates without the degree as long as they have significant Canon machine experience.
Min 4 years of post related work experience in a maintenance/service capacity in the installation and servicing of Canon steppers and/or scanners.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
* Skilled in the use of a PC along with Microsoft Office applications. * Ability to lead the coordination effort of equipment installations, and repair projects. * Must have the knowledge to identify and prioritize operational, personnel problem areas, and the ability to solve problems and execute policies and procedures. * Must be skilled in the use of hand tools, electronic tools, gauges and equipment. Additional:
Willingness to travel to clients throughout the country and at times internationally.
