Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
In this role, the successful candidate The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists the Registered Nurse in the implementation of the nursing process on his/her assigned patients. The practice of nursing as an LPN is defined as performing tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding health teaching health counseling and provisions of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner, taking into consideration the age, growth and development of the individual.
- Demonstrates an awareness of and respect for coworkers/patient's cultural background
- Performs other duties as assigned or volunteered in alignment with the mission, goals and values of Lutheran Health Care.
- Provides translation services as needed.
- Demonstrates sound knowledge base and actions in the care and decision making for designated patients.
- Administers medication therapy and vaccines as ordered by the provider.
- Communicates patient care needs to ancillary staff and follow up accordingly
- Observes, reports and documents significant physical, psychological or safety status changes in patient's condition to the RN/PSC/Provider promptly.
- Provides health education based on patient's needs.Documents patient response to treatment/teaching in the medical record.
- Utilizes appropriate resources in preparing patients for diagnostic, operative treatments and procedures
- Performs and/or assists patients with treatments/procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
1-2 years of experience in hospital based nursing, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, OB/Gyn. Ambulatory care experience preferred
Willingness to devote the time required completing assigned tasks on schedule
NYS LPN License
Bilingual in languages based on site's needs
BLS required
Infection Control NYS required course completion certificate required
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Mandarin preferred.
Required Licenses: LPN
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,709.78 - $73,982.71 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
