Senior Manager, FP&A JOB SUMMARY Provide global leadership, management, vision, and strategic support within FP&A or supporting major Business/Functional Areas. Success in this role relies upon a high degree of partnering with Finance Leadership, Terumo leadership and the Business/Functional area leadership to ensure success in achieving organizational goals, objectives, and projects. This role may in involve managing a team, leading various planning/analysis processes, identifying/leading projects, development of key reporting/dashboards, thought leadership on analytics/reporting architecture, and providing strategic business partner support. This role is also responsible to maintain strong relationships and cross functional alignment within the Blood and Cell Technologies organization and Terumo Corporation HQ. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Active member of the Business/Functional area management team(s) - be engaged, debate, share opinions, drive consensus, and bring a balanced financial perspective to the management meetings/teams.
- Responsible for developing financial analyses, reporting tools, dashboards and solutions needed to support and achieve global, regional, and functional financial performance objectives.
- Partner with various Finance functions - especially with Financial Systems team in development of new reports and to ensure data integrity and Corporate Finance in financial assessment of business opportunities (cases).
- Analyze, identify, and communicate trends and issues impacting the business on an ongoing basis; makes recommendations on system design, reporting, analytics, and overall strategic direction of the Global FP&A function and/or various Business/Functional areas.
- Report out or present information regarding business performance, identify key issues shaping the financial performance of the business and communicate clearly and effectively to leadership of supported function or business areas to ensure the right level of visibility and focus is achieved.
- Responsible for developing complex financial models to support decision making, business cases and business analysis independently or in partnership with management; includes keeping key business case Finance Justification Models up to date during the life of a project. Analyze financial data, models, reports and translate data into meaningful and succinct communications.
- Provides input and comments (current issues, look back and look forward) for the monthly performance analysis report (PAR) applicable to the Business/Functional area which they support.
- Develop, communicate, lead, and participate in planning processes and timelines for key global planning activities (Forecasts, Annual Plan, Long Range Plan, etc.) for the Business/Functional area supported.
- Potential leadership and supervision of one or more financial analysts.
- Active support of global initiatives, critical commitments and cross functional workgroups when assigned.
- Develop in-depth understanding of the overall enterprise and of the business fundamentals of all company functions.
- Work independently on ad-hoc projects, analysis, or activities at the request of financial leadership as needed relating to enterprise-wide needs or topics.
- Monitors and reports on the financial performance of competitors or relevant changes to industry standards; develops an understanding of financial issues as experienced by customers or relative industry best practice evolution.
- Ensures compliance with all corporate approval, processing, legal, reporting, and internal control requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education * Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. * Master's degree in a business discipline preferred. Experience
- Minimum 8 years' experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, business intelligence or data analytics.
- Experience in financial forecasting and planning including managing the forecast or planning process, working cross-functionally resolving forecast/budget issues, driving a forecast/plan process to closure, analysis of forecast/plan results, and effective communication of completed forecast/plan results.
- Previous experience performing financial accounting duties and have a basic understating of US GAAP or IFRS concepts.
- Experience working as a business partner supporting Sales/Marketing, Product Development, Factory Operations, or Information Technology functions.
- Experience with modern planning software platforms such as Workday Adaptive, Anaplan, Oracle, SAP, etc.
- Evaluating processes and developing recommendations for process improvements.
- Experience leading and managing small to medium sized projects and/or teams.
- Proven experience interacting effectively with executive leadership and ability to work in cross functional teams.
* Exposure to international business and non-US operations is a plus. Skills
- Demonstrated ability to write professional executive reports, commentary and develop PowerPoint decks appropriate for all levels of management.
* Strong analytical skills, the ability to identify, define, and solve problems rapidly, and the ability to think and plan both critically and strategically.
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles (IFRS or US GAAP). General understanding of project cost accounting and factory cost accounting.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally in both an in-person and remote environment. Strong team player.
* Ability to balance business partnering demands with the requirements of enterprise governance and shareholder value.
- Proven ability to interpret complex financial information and deliver conclusions and recommendations based on financial analysis in an easy to understand and concise fashion.
- Expert analytical, spreadsheet, data modeling and data visualization skills; proven ability to develop complex financial models.
- Effective people, project, and process leadership skills.
- Ability to use modern ERP systems and cloud planning/analysis systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (ability to manage large data sets, familiar with Excel automation functionality such as VB/PowerPivot and advanced formula expertise).
- Experience working with business analytics and data visualization tools such as MS PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Accounting or Finance Certification such as CPA, CMA, CFA etc. preferred or an equivalent competency level acquired through work experience qualification will be considered.
