Position Summary

Overall responsibilities include supporting the Oncology Special Programs leadership and clinical team at The Valley Health System and directing the administration and delivery of expectations of Oncology programs, including but not limited to Fast Track Screening Colonoscopy, Genetics, and Navigation. Responsible for collection of programmatic data. Functions as a member of the team of administrative staff for the Cancer Center.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent with an Associates degree in Business Administration, Secretarial Science or related field or certification from a secretarial school preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Medical terminology strongly preferred.

Experience

Prior administrative experience. Oncology experience is preferred.

Skills

Proficient in software applications including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Good organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively (oral and in writing). Ability to effectively interact with customers to meet their needs. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make effective decisions and respond quickly to customer's needs. Ability to recognize and deal with problematic situations and to prioritize. Uses discretion in confidential matters.
