Position Summary:
|
The Director of College Guidance provides support and assistance to students seeking to further their education at the college level by designing a pipeline for academic advising, enrichment, and scholarship opportunities.
|
Position Responsibilities:
|
- The position will interface on a regular basis with students and their families and present the school program to College representatives.
- Counsel students and their families in the stages of deliberating about, choosing, and applying to college.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students and parents.
- Build relationships with Admissions Offices.
- Enhance YUHSG's academic profile within the College Circuit.
- Guide Academic Policy to promote academic excellence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic profiles of students.
- Communications and relationships with Students and Parents.
- Executing on the vision of counseling for students - for example the meetings, proactive procedure for the application process.
- Presentation of our school program to College representatives.
- Coordinate the College Board Exams.
- Teach English to high school students with a focus on literature, writing, and analytical skills.
- Oversee the Adira Rose Koffsky A"H Humanities Scholars Program, which provides Central students with unique and meaningful enrichment opportunities in the humanities.

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- A bachelor's degree in either education or administration is required, along with at least 3 years of prior experience in an educational setting.
- Master's degree preferred.
|
Skills & Competencies:
|
- Demonstrated appreciation of the unique position of Yeshiva University High School for Girls within Modern Orthodoxy and ability to represent the goals of the university to the community.
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in communication; excellent written, verbal, and oral skills.
- Candidate must be able to problem solve and work with a diverse set of people.
- Incumbent will also counsel students and staff on educational, social and emotional issues.
