HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Building & Grounds Driver works under general supervision, operates trucks, forklifts, street sweepers and related equipment in hauling trash and animal waste, and in cleaning grounds areas; performs related work as required. This position reports to a Supervisor or Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Operates motorized street sweeper
  • Removes animal waste from compounds
  • Loads into dump truck
  • Transports animal waste to dumps and unloads truck
  • Transporting it to trash dumps
  • Steam cleans trash containers
  • Services and cleans assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Possesses good work ethics



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This position will report to Harter Hospital at the Safari Park and will be primarily responsible for transporting animal carcasses, lab samples, and other hospital supplies between the San Diego Zoo Hospital and Harter Hospital at the Safari Park daily.

JOB EXPERIENCE



  • Education, training and/or experience which clearly demonstrate the knowledge and experience outlined.


EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS



  • Current valid California Driver's License in good standing

  • Position Type: Hourly Part-Time Non-Exempt Union Position - If selected, there will be fees and dues to be paid to the union
