Ballard Spahr is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Development to lead on key areas of revenue generation for the firm. This individual will work closely with relationship and other key lawyers, and provide support for assigned strategic clients. This position is hybrid and offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in a Ballard office, at one of the following locations: Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, and Washington D.C.

Your Role:

As a Senior Manager, Client Development within our Marketing and Business Development Team your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a select portfolio of clients and related client development projects under the direction of the Senior Director

  • Conducting client prep meetings with lawyer team, including presenting relevant research points and working with the lawyers on messaging that emphasizes our value-add

  • Attending select industry conferences and/or firm events with the goal of introducing clients, potential clients, and referrals to SMEs; and reports on quantitative and qualitative ROI

  • Working with relationship lawyers to organize tailored external touch points, from social events to CLEs, and reports on quantitative and qualitative ROI

  • Maintaining and tracking key metrics on select portfolio of clients

  • Following up with client contacts/lawyers to obtain feedback and drive improvements

  • Planning and executing strategies that will expand legal services provided to, and grow revenue from targeted clients, in partnership with the relationship lawyer and associated client teams

  • Supporting efforts to regularly analyze current portfolio of select clients and using criteria to identify and target additional clients as needed

  • Serving as a trusted adviser to partners and collaborating with teams across the firm to properly leverage skillsets and drive efficiencies

Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of business or client development experience. Experience supporting or running individual client teams is a plus. Law firm experience, JD or MBA is strongly preferred but not required. An in depth understanding of the needs and expectations of law firms, and the capability to adapt to an environment with shifting priorities and diverse stakeholders.

The salary range for this position is from $155,000 - $180,000 depending upon experience and location.
