Overview:

We are looking for a Summer Legal Intern based in Stamford, Connecticut office to lead various legal and compliance initiatives. Reporting to Corporate Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviewing and drafting various business contracts, terms & conditions, notices, letters including but not limited to the following agreements: influencers, sweepstakes, marketing, events, sponsorships and sales
  • Review social media and other marketing assets for compliance with laws and regulations (e.g. FTC, FDA, NAD, Cosmetic Regulations, MOCRA)
  • Review, research and report on current topics, laws and regulations (e.g. industry trends, litigation trends, FTC, FDA, NAD, Cosmetics Regulations, MOCRA)
  • Search for trademarks and research digital law matters regarding Beiersdorf's intellectual property portfolio, websites, domains, content clearance in the U.S.
  • Assist in compliance policies and procedures, including trackers and reports
  • Draft clear and concise legal memos
  • Assist with management the contract library and any applicable contract databases, including uploading and tracking of documents
  • Assists with audits and other risk management initiatives
  • Assist with corporate housekeeping matters as needed
  • Perform administrative duties, including maintaining digital/physical files
  • Support legal team with other legal matters and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate of Jurisprudence Required. Will consider JD, LLM candidates.
  • Minimum completion of 2 year of law school coursework.
  • Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts
  • Experience with advertising laws/regulations and intellectual property
  • Knowledge and experience of North American legal system, rules and regulations
  • Consumer products or in-house counsel experience a plus
  • Must possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills,
  • Must be pro-active and have creative problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to take initiative and set priorities, and to work independently as well as in cooperation with others.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong, clear, concise communication skills that can adapt based on the audience
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail, responsive and well organized
  • Able to perform administrative tasks as needed
  • Positive team member and active contributor in a team environment
  • The ability to travel to other Beiersdorf tri-state offices (<10%)
