Position Summary

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for oversight of the company's multi-state payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees. A strong leader to supervise three Payroll Associates while partnering closely with internal HR Teams as well as Shared Services teams. Key contact for payroll-related activity.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the Payroll Team providing direction and support to the Payroll Associates, and acting as back-up during high-volume payrolls cycles and time-off
  • Oversee the review, confirmation and accuracy of payroll cycles (Workday)
  • Coordinate with the parent company's payroll department to process semi-monthly payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Provide training for Payroll Associates, Talent Operations Associates, and other team members on Payroll topics
  • Coordinate with the Talent and Compensation teams to process mass transactions and/or employee audits including, but not limited to, annual merit/bonus cycles, company restructuring, and employee data reviews
  • Review and implement payroll process changes required by the parent company
  • Identify, plan, and implement processes to streamline and improve payroll accuracy and efficiency
  • Communicate to stakeholders any relevant changes to payroll standard practices, including those changes implemented by the parent company
  • Ensure consistency and integrity in payroll data, policies, and procedures while partnering closely with the Analytics and HRIS teams.
  • Act as primary point of contact for Payroll process questions
  • Review and confirm semi-monthly payrolls to ensure accuracy, including but not limited to, Leave of Absences, Severance payments, bonuses/awards, uploads, and international transfers/hires
  • Research and resolve payroll problems and discrepancies
  • Create quarterly reports for the Employee Relations and Benefits teams
  • Create and maintain temporary employee and overtime employee timesheet policies, calendars, and Excel files


Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience
  • Prior experience managing payroll using Workday
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation a plus
  • Workday experience a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and professionalism
  • Maintains discretion and confidentiality
  • Comfortable working independently, in a collaborative team setting, and providing direction to colleagues and team members
  • Proficient technical skills in Excel and other applications
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize with minimal supervision and to adapt quickly to changing needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to maintaining compliance with all applicable laws/regulations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

The salary range for this position is posted below.
