Digital Training Specialist

Pay rate: $31-37/hr - Depending on Education and Experience
Position Summary:
Join the Information Technology Services (ITS) team as a Digital Training Specialist, where you'll play a key role in empowering university staff and faculty through engaging, accessible training on modern digital tools. You'll help remove technology barriers and support the university's digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Facilitation (60%)
- Deliver scheduled training sessions on workplace and classroom technologies
- Address attendee questions and coordinate with subject matter experts
- Promote additional relevant training opportunities
Training Development (30%)
- Design and update training materials for new and existing digital tools
- Collaborate with SMEs and communications teams
- Determine delivery methods (in-person, remote, asynchronous, etc.)
Training Research (10%)
- Participate in project meetings to assess training needs
- Align messaging with service desk and product teams
- Gather feedback to improve training effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Education, or related field, or 3+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of teaching or training experience, preferably in a technical or higher education setting
- Ability to independently create curriculum, training opportunities, and instructional materials
- Proficiency with educational and workplace tools (e.g., Canvas, Microsoft 365, Panopto, Smartsheet, Robin)
- Experience with media production tools (e.g., screen casting, video editing)
- Ability to adapt training approaches for diverse learning styles and accessibility needs
- Experience using feedback and data to improve training effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience supporting academic technologies or instructional design in higher education
- Experience with learning analytics and data driven improvement of student outcomes
- Experience with accessibility standards and creating accessible teaching and learning materials
- Knowledge of service management and ITIL processes
