Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor's Degree
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
- Ideal candidates should have a strong background in WordPress, HTML, and SEO best practices
- Experience managing social media, including developing content strategies and monitoring analytics
- Excellent communication, cross-collaboration, and planning skills with a strict attention to details, process and deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work diligently
- A passion for nature and an eye for design are essential for success in this position
Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens Team, the graphic designer will be responsible for creating material for marketing, events, and social media. In this role, you'll maintain the garden's website to improve user experience and information accessibility. You'll collaborate with a team to create visually appealing content that showcases our botanical collection, upcoming events, and educational programs.

Key responsibilities:
- Design, build, and edit the botanical gardens website
- Plan, design, and execute social media posts (Instagram and Facebook)
- Design print/digital promotions for events such as plant sales, Fairies in the Forest, Gold Rush, and garden gatherings
- Attend and participate in planning meetings and events as needed
