Primary Purpose of Position
The Basic Needs Project Manager will provide oversight for the BN2 project to build a network of support to assist under-resourced students with basic needs related to transportation, food assistance, housing, child care, health, and technology. This position will be responsible for the basic needs grant and emergency fund application process, coordinating existing campus and community resources, identifying and developing opportunities for cross-training among existing institutional programs and personnel, and designing and implementing new programming to support students' basic needs. This is a grant funded position through December 31, 2025.
Job Description
The Basic Needs Project Manager will provide oversight for the BN2 project to build a network of support to assist under-resourced students with basic needs related to transportation, food assistance, housing, child care, health, and technology. This position will be responsible for the basic needs grant and emergency fund application process, coordinating existing campus and community resources, identifying and developing opportunities for cross-training among existing institutional programs and personnel, and designing and implementing new programming to support students' basic needs.

This position will support:
BN2 Program Management

  • Expand wrap-around basic needs supports by connecting existing student services (including transportation, childcare, emergency aid, benefits screening, and food assistance, etc.); planning and leading cross-training; and supporting interdepartmental collaboration
  • Identify and link students to on- and off-campus basic needs services and resources such as housing, food, clothing child care, transportation, health, and technology
  • Work closely with various campus departments and/or programs to identify and address student needs
  • Coordinate, plan, develop, and conduct presentations and workshops relating to basic needs services and resources
  • Oversee all aspects of grant management, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements and regulations.


Basic Needs and Emergency Assistance Application Processing and Coordination

  • Maintain application process for basic needs access and emergency assistance funds
  • Coordinate with campus stakeholders to review and process funds
  • Communicate with students about process, maintain records, create and disseminate reports

Assessment and Reporting

  • Compile data, prepare and maintain records, reports, lists and files related to the basic needs program area
  • Complete assessment and data collection in support of project goals and objectives
  • Assist CARE Resource Coordinator with assessment and data collection of project goals related to CARE Center and food insecurity

This is a grant funded position through December 31, 2025.
Management Preference
A bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience in a non-profit, government, or higher education setting is preferred. Strong candidates will have experience working with underserved students in student services, student affairs, or student development capacities or in social services, social work, counseling, or case management roles.
