Honeybee Robotics, a subsidiary of Blue Origin LLC, has been at the forefront of robotics for over 40 years, establishing ourselves as pioneers in developing novel exploration systems for the most extreme planetary environments. At our Altadena, CA location, we look to "Touch Life" by supporting planetary science, including every NASA Mars rover since Spirit and Opportunity. We strive to "Mine the Sky" through the development of practical In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) solutions.

As part of the customer contracts team in the Legal and Compliance group, you will directly support contracting efforts as part of the Space Exploration team within Blue Origin's subsidiary, Honeybee Robotics. You will team with cross-functional counterparts on issues related to Honeybee's customer contracts including U.S. Government, commercial and international contracting matters.

This is an early career role with in the Legal and Compliance group reporting to the In-Space Systems (I-SS) Sr. Contracts Manager. As an individual contributor, you will provide support to the Space Exploration team from capture through proposal, contract award, and all phases of contract administration. Within this role, you will have opportunities to work in a dynamic team environment, where work projects can be diverse in nature, and, move quickly.

This position will be onsite at our Altadena, CA location.

Responsibilities:
  • Support communications with the customer and cross-functional counterparts to track and submit data items and invoices, monitor contractual obligations, and prepare documentation.
  • Draft and receive customer correspondence.
  • Assist in proposal development activities. Participate in contract negotiations under supervision of the I-SS Sr. Contracts Manager.
  • Analyzes and provides initial contractual guidance on U.S. Government and commercial contracting issues and coordinates guidance with the appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) prior to distribution to the Space Exploration team for implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and tools relating to customer contract administration. Apply standardized processes and guidance; use automation when practical and appropriate.
  • Facilitate and manage through completion, data and documentation input and deliverables into various corporate, government, and customer systems.
  • Minimal travel for meeting support is expected for this position.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of contracting experience and Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution in a business, technical or other field that provides exposure to contracting issues.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Ability to manage tasking independently and work closely with the I-SS Sr. Contracts Manager on sophisticated and nuanced issues as they arise.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and NASA FAR Supplement.
  • Ability to solve problems using multiple sources of data and define priorities.
  • Project and task management experience delivering end products to various internal and external customers. Prior Government contracts experience a plus.
  • Experience with IFS Cloud, Nitro PDF, and Adobe a plus

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $82,570.00-$115,597.65
