At MKBC, we save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in PA and NJ. The Training Specialist position supports the Blood Center by providing collection department training activities and resources including new employee training, annual competencies, CPR training, Standard Operating Procedures and community presentations. The anticipated hourly wage starts at $21.28/hr and is commensurate with experience. In addition, Miller-Keystone offers the following to all full-time employees:

What you will be doing:



  • Develops and maintains electronic training modules in compliance with regulations.
  • Delivers educational presentations to schools and community groups.
  • Supports mobile and fixed-site blood collection operations as needed; performs donor screening, whole blood, and automated collections using BECS and manual procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains proficiency by adhering to quality standards and achieving low error rates in collection procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with internal SOPs and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards; assists in resolving Corrective Action Reports (CARs), Continuous Quality Improvements (CQIs), and Customer Service Reports (CSRs).
  • Writes, updates, and reviews training materials, tracking logs, staff competencies, and equipment validation documents in accordance with Blood Center SOPs.


What you will bring to the role:



  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, or related field, with 2+ years' experience in health or medical training/development preferred.
  • 1-2 years of Phlebotomy experience in a similar environment is required. Phlebotomy and CPR certifications are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a regulatory and compliance-driven environment.
  • Proven success collaborating with diverse teams and individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and related applications.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) to engage with donors and employees of all backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities to meet the needs of the blood center.


Additional information:

This position reports to the Director of Donor Collections at our Bethlehem location and will be responsible for adhering to the following schedule:



  • The normal hours for this position are 8:30am-5pm at our Bethlehem location but some flexibility is required to meet the needs of our partners at community events, blood drives, and fixed sites.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license and clear driving record.
