The US Oncology Network is looking for a Remote Research Coverage Analyst to join our team at Texas Oncology! This position is based out of our corporate office in Dallas, Texas and will support all TxO Locations.

What does the Research Coverage Analyst do?
Under minimal supervision, the Research Coverage Analyst coordinates and processes study budgets for all research trials utilizing sponsor's protocol. Drafts and prepares Medicare Coverage Analysis in Excel, for review by Contracts Manager. Maintains a list of all relevant vendor costs, and keeps up-to-date on pricing and payments from USOR, and Medicare. Works closely with sites, and the Central Billing Department to determine routine costs and NSOC items of services associated with research protocols. Creates, maintains, and updates Research Billing Guides (RBG) for all protocols, to ensure site is aware of how to charge protocol-related services. Creates, maintains, and updates Case Report Forms (CRFs) as appropriate to ensure proper tracking and payment for services performed in research related activities. Uploads appropriate documents to Indie or appropriate database. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Accurately creates and maintains Medicare Coverage Analysis to build budgets and/or budget updates for all protocol and protocol amendments.
  • Maintains and updates Study Start-up and Fee for Services Schedules.
  • Updates budget template to include Medicare and pre-negotiated rates.
  • Answers contractual and budget questions from Central Research Department, Central Billing Department, and field staff based on executed Clinical Trial Agreements (CTA).
  • Creates, circulates for review and signature, and maintains and updates all Research Billing Guides (RBG) for protocol and protocol amendments.
  • Creates and maintains updates on all CRFs or other appropriate documentation needed to receive reimbursement
  • Uploads all department study documents (CDA, CTA, RBG, RCG, etc) required to the appropriate database Indie or new one) and work closely to interface with A/R Analyst to ensure that all appropriate billing and reconciliation has taken place on independent trials.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • 2 year Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent in accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in oncology research and healthcare billing strongly preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Preferable to have experience with medical billing, CPT codes and electronic records.
  • Must have relevant experience preparing budgets and proficient in Excel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is performed in an office environment 95% of the time. Work may require travel by air or automobile, up to 20% of the time. Work is performed in an office environment and requires frequent interaction with business office staff, senior management, and physicians. Employee must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges. There may be some travel by air or automobile as mentioned above.
