Job Description:

The Finance Accounting Manager for Airbus Commercial Operations reports directly to the Head of Accounting with a day to day supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager.

In this role, he/she is responsible for coordinating Accounting activities for Airbus Commercial and working across the full scope of the Commercial business, including FAL Operations located in Mobile, Engineering Centers located in Mobile and in Wichita, Kansas, as well as Inventory Controlling and Functions controllers located in Herndon, Virginia and new business developments.

Your Challenges:

Lead the closing process : 70%

The Accounting Manager will coordinate across the organization the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process on time and on quality by applying business-critical accounting activities related to Management Accounting & G/L Accounting.

He or she will guide the controllers for the implementation of the cost accounting principles for distribution of indirect costs across various departments, business areas. The jobholder will ensure that the business performance kpis such as revenue recognition, hourly rates, operational performance are accurately reflected in the financial statements and in the Management Reporting as well GL month end activities.

He or she will be responsible for the implementation of the Airbus Group Reporting for the purpose of the inclusion of the financial statements in the Consolidation SAP System.

The Accounting Manager will identify program risks and opportunities on the closing and measure their potential impact on the financial statements by ensuring the mitigation actions are assigned to appropriate stakeholders and implemented to full effect.

He or she will contribute and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring that the organization is ready and prepared for audits and that financial records are accurate and complete.

Support Continuous Improvements Process, Digitalization and Automatization : 30%

  • Act as a team member of the US One Roof Accounting Services and ensures full coordination with the Integrated Functions

  • Ensures full alignment on Accounting methodology applied within the Group,

  • Contributes to the Regional setup of the Accounting team,

  • Ensure implementation of SAP system enhancements and other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness

  • Ensure implementation compliance, segregation of duties and internal controls rules

  • Support the Head of Accounting and other Finance departments in special projects.

  • Contributes to improvement projects by addressing with the Financial System any digitalization as needed.

Your Boarding Pass:

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • BS in Business Administration, Accounting skills, and Finance required

  • Additional accounting/financial studies preferred (CPA, MBA...)

  • Good knowledge of SAP modules FI and CO

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years or more of experience in finance, auditing and/or accounting in a commercial or industrial environment involving tight deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership in resolving or escalating issue resolution, team building, training and team support.

  • Good communication skills, rigor, conscientious

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks, build strong cross functional relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Promote speak-up culture

Communication Skills:

  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills

  • Fluent in English

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • SAP for the Accounting and Controlling Module, Excel, PowerPoint.

Travel Required:

  • 10% Domestic and International
