Your Job

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Company, is looking for a QA/QC Specialist to join the team. The QA/QC Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that all projects adhere to company and industry standards. This involves reviewing project specifications, creating project-specific documents, and collaborating with various teams to uphold the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in quality assurance and control in the engineering or construction industry.

This role will sit in office Monday - Friday at our headquarters in Katy, TX.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze and review project specifications to ensure compliance with company and industry standards. Identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement and communicate these to the relevant teams.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific quality assurance and control documents, including, but not limited to, job-specific letters, inspection test plans, and quality control plans.
  • Implement QA procedures and best practices across all project phases. Ensure processes are followed and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Support QC field operations with welder testing, continuity records, CMS, etc.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure QA/QC standards are understood and implemented effectively.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of projects to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and client specifications.
  • Prepare and present QA/QC reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and corrective actions taken.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes to continuously improve QA/QC processes and policies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in a QA/QC role within the engineering or construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and/or work related experience.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations such as ASME B31.3, ASME Section V, ASME Section IX, API 1104.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Certification in Quality Management or a related area is a plus (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer)
