Lead Java Developer ( Kotlin & AWS)

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer with strong experience in Java, Kotlin, and AWS to join our dynamic development team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend services and cloud-native applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative Agile environment, leveraging modern development practices and cloud technologies.

Basic Qualifications:
* 8-10 years of hands-on experience in application development using Java and Kotlin.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Strong understanding of software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and version control.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive team environment.
* Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with JavaScript, Open-Source RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
* Exposure to Agile methodologies.
* Ability to design, develop, test, and support full-stack solutions using modern development tools and frameworks.
* AWS Certification (Solutions Architect - Associate) is a plus.

Qualifications

*Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
*8-10 years of hands-on experience in application development using Java
*4-5 years of hands-on experience in Kotlin

The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 - $140,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
