This position is part of Parker's Electronic Motion & Controls Division (EMC) which provides technologies that create and control motion to customers across a wide range of applications and industries. Our Electronic Motion & Controls (EMC) division is currently seeking a dedicated Machinist to join our Irwin, PA team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for performing machine set up, operation, inspection and program adjustments. Positions are available on 1st and 2nd Shifts.

Your Primary Responsibilities in Elevating our Operations & People Experiences:

The following represents the essential and most significant duties of this position and is not meant to be exhaustive; other duties may apply:

  • Machine parts according to established processes, blueprints, sketches, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Perform machine set-ups and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and related documentation to maintain high-quality standards and meet production schedules.
  • Conduct inspections of machined parts using various precision tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, CMM) to verify quality and accuracy.
  • Safely operate various machine tools, perform hand operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines, including managing coolant and controlling chip removal.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to other Machinists regarding machine set-ups and fixture use.
  • Ensure proper handling, use, and disposal of chemical, substances and materials in the waste stream, where applicable.
  • Promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures including policies, work practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., quality, safety improvement, HPT participation).
  • Follow standard work, Day by Hour, TIB, and other operational metrics.
  • Ability to flex to other machine centers when needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Programming Code knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of manual machines including saw, lathe, or mill.
  • Proficient in shop math.
  • Ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints.
  • Solid communication skills required and the ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Flexibility and cooperation in performing other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One (1) year of Machinist level work experience (or equivalent Machinist technical education, including strong skills in shop math, measuring tools and blueprint reading.)

Additional skills/experience are a plus!

  • Associate's Degree in Machining.
  • Conversational and/or CAM programming.

Physical Requirements (ADA):

  • Ability to travel to and from the primary work location.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 4 hours at a time).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, occasionally.
