Job Summary: Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function in assigned region(s). Oversees recruiting and hiring efforts, salary and benefit administration, performance tracking evaluations, internal investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Essential Functions:
- Serves as the Bank's expert and overseer for all healthcare and retirement plans.
- Serves as a member of the Bank's Retirement Plan Committee, specifically in relation to the Bank's 401(k) Plan and other retirement plans.
- Works with Accounting department to prepare the Bank's 401(k) Financial Statements.
- Works with legal counsel and vendors to maintain and amend plan documents, as well as prepare and file the Bank's Form 5500.
- Oversees and is responsible for the Bank's compliance with Affordable Care Act and other benefits filings and compliance.
- Works with external auditors on annual audits of retirement plans.
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to Executive Management for improvement of Bank's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
- Administers compensation program and assists with regular compensation analysis.
- Works closely with Mortgage department to prepare annual mortgage calendar as well as monthly calculation/preparation and oversight of mortgage commission payments and preparing and approving changes to the Bank's Mortgage Compensation Plan.
- Responsible for Bank's compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Assists with the administration of and monitors performance evaluation program, recommending revisions, as necessary.
- Works directly with other department managers to assist in carrying out responsibilities on personnel matters, including but not limited to, coaching, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, investigations, and terminations.
- Develops and oversees the HRIS system that meets the Bank's personnel needs.
- Supervises certain team members of the Human Resources Department.
- Manages daily HR services related to recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, performance evaluations, benefit and retirement plans, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles, CORE Values, Blue Book culture, and overall objectives of the Bank.
- Prepares reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including but not limited to issues such as benefit costs, staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, compensation, promotions, terminations, etc.
- Supervises/manages/directs the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel.
- Assigns work duties to team members.
- Maintains positive relationships and promotes efficiency among a group of workers.
- Plans and supervises the activities of others.
- Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.
- Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees consistent with Southside Bank's mission, CORE Values, and Blue Book culture guide.
- Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to Southside Bank customers and employees.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

- Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank's Information Security Program.
- Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of healthcare benefit plan administration experience, preferred.
- Five or more years of 401(k) plan administration experience, preferred.
- Five or more years of personnel managerial experience, preferred.
- Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR) or SHRM-CP, preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Attention to detail, strict deadlines, and ability to work efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; strong writing skills required.
- Ability to communicate with various people in different departments.
- Must be able to work strategically with various departments to add value, build trust, increase efficiency, and positively impact the bottom line.
Necessary Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record-keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.
Physical Activity/Dexterity:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers. Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Physical Environment Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
- Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- Moderate noise (e.g. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
Work Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm.
- Available for overtime as needed.
