Overview

F&B Attendants assists Server in providing quality food and beverage service to guests, according to Hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation. They also transport utensils and service ware in order to provide food servers with appropriate equipment for guests' dining experience, replenish food on hot and cold buffets, expedite and deliver food to guests' table. Correctly describes and informs guest of food as necessary with each interaction per restaurant specifications. Restocks all dishes and utensils as they are cleaned. Cleans physical surroundings.



Responsibilities

    Prepares foods such as fruit, juices, cereals, bread, hot food, etc.
  • Replenishes food on hot/cold buffets - replenishes ice and maintain time/temp standards clean and inspects tables.
  • Restocks all clean glasses, silverware and plates.
  • Expedites and delivers all food items from the kitchen to guest tables in a timely manner with the knowledge of proper production and quality control per restaurant standards.
  • Knowledge of menu items and descriptions for interaction with guests at delivery.
  • Works with cooks to maintain adequate supply of food based upon consumption.
  • Performs general cleaning in order to stay in compliance with the Health Department.
  • Restocks outlets with appropriate inventory. Breaks down buffet, clean all serving vessels, replace and set for next day's business.
  • Puts away food stock and dry goods in their proper location.
  • Keep all work areas clean and properly stocked according to the current meal period.
  • Keep all tables cleaned and properly set according to property specific standards.
  • Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dish room area according to established standards.
  • Assist servers by delivering and refilling beverages, pre-bussing tables, and promptly resolving any guest requests.
  • Complete daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established side-work checklist.
  • Provide service to guests in server's absence, as needed.
  • Maintain beverage levels in glasses/cups on table at least full at all times. (coffee, tea, soda, lemonade, and water).
  • Assist bartenders with set-up, break-down, and replenishment of bar inventory.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Keeps work areas clean and organized.
  • Completes other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Cleans and dries floor to avoid slip and fall accidents.
  • Attends all mandatory meetings.


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or related experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to stand during entire shift.
