JOB SUMMARY

The Junior Developer will be responsible for performing application enhancements, generating reports,

troubleshooting issues, monitoring critical jobs, and applying bug fixes as needed. The role will collaborate closely with two full-time developers to gain hands-on experience with IFP's systems and data.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Assist in testing, modifying, and documenting computer systems, applications, and integrations under the guidance of senior developers. Assist in creating technical documentation of systems and infrastructure.
  2. Apply system-analyst techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications.
  3. Analyze user information system needs. Document the functionality and requirements. Research, evaluate and recommend solutions and appropriate technology to meet user's needs. Assist in the development of user guides and manuals for system users. Assist in training users as needed.
  4. Ensure process integrity and conduct / improve continual quality control.
  5. Perform daily checks to ensure SQL jobs and Automate tasks have successfully processed, in doing so document and report any errors. Errors include automated reports that are scheduled to run on a given day/time that fail, ensuring that SQL jobs that are scheduled to run nightly are completed in the proper window of time.
  6. Track hours and project status daily via project management tools.
  7. Participate in rotation of on-call management of critical SQL jobs, such as ensuring OLAP cubes (pre-calculated, multidimensional data structures) that must run successfully on the night of monthly-close run properly and without error.
  8. Improve processes and efficiencies on an ongoing basis with the team.
  9. Assist in development of integrations, workflows, dashboards, and reports, to support organizational needs, using tools such as Visual Studio, Power BI, SQL Server Management Studio, and Automate.
  10. Complete special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  11. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree required in a field such as business, information technology, computer science, information systems, or data science.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience preferred
  • Good understanding of relational database design, SQL queries, stored procedures and functions.
  • Experience using Microsoft SQL-Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Tableau, and OLAP preferred.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming preferred. Ability to write SQL queries with guidance against complex database structures.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, emphasis in Excel.
  • Certifications of Power BI, or other Microsoft developer certifications a plus.
  • Quick learner, highly motivated, and able to work independently when required.
  • Solution-oriented and excellent problem solver.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
  • Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness
