Job Title: Network Engineer/Technician Job Category: Data Center Technician / Engineer Location: Onsite - Hartford, CT (with some work in Farmington, CT) Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Conversion) Industry: Healthcare - Hospital Setting Job Summary: TEKsystems is seeking a skilled Network Technician to support one of our healthcare clients during a critical infrastructure transition. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on Tier 1 and Tier 2 network support across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have strong Cisco experience and a solid understanding of data center environments. Key Responsibilities: * Perform rack and stack of network equipment in server closets and data centers * Replace and configure switches and routers (Cisco) * Conduct closet refreshes, including switch checks and PDU installations * Support BGP routing and updates * Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for network issues * Collaborate with the Network Engineering team to ensure uptime and performance * Work primarily onsite at Hartford and occasionally in Farmington Must-Have Skills: * Strong experience with Cisco routers and switches * Proficiency in network engineering and WAN/LAN infrastructure * Experience with rack and stack in server closets * Familiarity with data center environments Nice-to-Have Skills: * Experience with Arista network equipment (a major plus) * Knowledge of firewalls and network troubleshooting * Exposure to LAN/WAN support and infrastructure upgrades Qualifications: * 2+ years of experience in a network support or technician role * Hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware * Strong problem-solving and communication skills * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, healthcare environment Employee Value Proposition (EVP): This is a great opportunity to join a critical project with a TEKsystems client during a pivotal time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
