DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role entails overseeing intricate managerial, administrative, and technical tasks related to the management of DOT facilities within a designated District. Responsibilities include supervising the procurement, enhancement, construction, and upkeep of facilities in a manner that prioritizes environmental sustainability, health and safety standards, community relations, and fulfills the operational requirements of the department to ensure the efficiency of the highway system for interstate trade, as well as winter and summer maintenance operations, all while ensuring the safety of the public. This position requires that you be available for 24-hour emergency response.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Must be available for 24-hour emergency response.
  • This position will be headquartered in PennDOT Engineering District Office or County Office located in Susquehanna, Wyoming, Wayne, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Pike, Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Dauphin, Lebanon, or Columbia County, if space is available.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; or
  • Two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities; and a bachelor's degree in construction technology, architecture, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, building automation systems, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of experience in building construction administration, construction planning, or multi-trade building construction project management in commercial or industrial facilities.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
