Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Engineer to join a new project that will modernize a web-based .NET system into the Azure Cloud using various cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, the goal of this project will be to automate the customer's manual processes. The software development lifecycle will leverage an Agile framework with DevSecOps processes using Agile teams.

What will you do:

This requisition is for a UI/UX engineer to support an Agile team to modernize the legacy system and automate the manual processes. The engineer is expected to:

    Work with the customer and end users to translate requirements into Epics, Features, and User Stories for both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Work with end users to ensure good user experience, synthesize real user feedback into prototypes and solutions, and work closely with developers to ensure intended experiences are carried through to the software product.
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and customer.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
  • Support Agile teams in Backlog planning, work item refinement and story point analysis.
  • Ensure that User Stories have well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • For User Stories assigned to the engineer, ensure that work meets the acceptance criteria and is completed by the end of the sprint.
  • Demonstrate work completed in a sprint to the customer.
  • Support sprint retrospectives and incremental improvements based on feedback.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • Proven UI/UX experience.
  • Demonstrable UI design skills, ideally with a strong portfolio.
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Up to date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Ability to execute in a remote team environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder (Permanent Resident of the US).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Agency Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile certification
  • Experience with Figma UI Toolkit and/or Visual UI Builder
  • Experience programming in Angular in a Visual Studio IDE.
  • Experience using GitHub to leverage CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps deployments.
  • Experience using Team Foundation Server (aka Azure Dev Ops) for managing sprint backlogs, features and user stories.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
