Overview

We are seeking a versatile and results-driven Software Developer with strong SQL and analytical skills to join our team supporting healthcare and defense-related IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in data-driven development, be capable of working in dynamic environments, and demonstrate the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable software and analytic products that support both strategic and tactical objectives. This position will support various projects within the Defense Health Agency (DHA), contributing to the development of tools, databases, and reports that optimize healthcare delivery, safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.



Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain software applications that synthesize and integrate data from multiple sources to support leadership decision-making aligned with Service and Military Health System (MHS) strategic goals.
  • Design and implement robust SQL queries and database solutions to support analytics and application functionality.
  • Provide timely and accurate software and analytical products, delivering clear, well-reasoned insights and substantiated recommendations for leadership.
  • Organize, participate in, and lead working groups focused on the development of analytic tools, software byproducts, or process enhancements that improve analytic outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and technical details to stakeholders across all organizational levels, including senior leadership within the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and adhere to timelines and budgets.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to evolving requirements, time constraints, and emerging technologies.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in data integration and manipulation.
  • Proficiency with software and languages such as SAS, R, or Python.
  • Strong technical skills in data visualization tools and platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and coalesce information into clear, actionable software or analytic tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with additional skills in development tools, platforms, or hardware integration.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to deliver products on time, on schedule, and within budget in dynamic and time-sensitive environments.
  • Capability and eagerness to continuously learn and apply new technologies, systems, and tools.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

**Preferred:**

  • Experience supporting healthcare or federal clients, particularly within the DHA or MHS.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture, cloud-based development, or health analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.

Target salary range: $100,000-150,000
