Assistant Vice President of Privacy Compliance Remote $185,000 to $205,000 DOE We're hiring an Assistant Vice President of Privacy, Compliance to assist GMR's Chief Privacy Officer in overseeing and managing GMR's global privacy program and assist the Chief Compliance Officer in administrating and providing oversight of the compliance program. Responsibilities:
- Lead Risk of Harm analysis for complex privacy incident investigations and assist in the mentoring and development of all investigation resources (i.e., privacy team, compliance team and beyond). Assist on all escalated privacy incidents involving complex factual, IT and cybersecurity investigations as a Privacy Subject Matter Expert.
- Collaborate with the GMR legal team to ensure effective privacy and data protection contracting terms are in place in Business Associate Agreements and Data Processing Agreements, and all related templates. Assist the legal team as a Privacy Subject Matter Expert during non-GMR paper negotiations and contract reviews where additional privacy and or data protection expertise as needed.
- Support complex or escalated partner processing of patient requests for medical records, and ensure organization maintains appropriate privacy consents, authorization forms and privacy notices (subpoenas, law enforcement, probate, etc.).
- Partner with IT and business leaders to ensure appropriate compliance with federal and state-based privacy laws, including those governing tracking technologies and biometrics.
- Lead the review of record management and retention policies and provide ongoing oversight, management, and guidance on changing regulatory and or contractual requirements, and directing any implementation needed to maintain compliance.
- Stay abreast of best practices and the changing landscape of applicable privacy regulations (federal, state, and international) and lead in the development of an internal monitoring program to keep leadership informed of the ever-changing privacy landscape.
- Serve as a regional compliance lead at the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Assist the Chief Privacy Officer in:
- Overseeing and managing GMR's global privacy program, including leading privacy risk assessments and assisting in the development of strategic work plans.
- Management, review and response to any governmental or external inquiry related to privacy.
- Development and advancement of metrics and reports for compliance committees and senior leaders.
- Managing and overseeing the company's privacy policies and training content, along with regular company communications to enhance awareness. Deliver both computer-based and live training throughout the company.
- Due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions, vendors and RFP's.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Expert level knowledge in privacy regulations, including federal, state, and international laws
- Expert level skills in complex privacy incident investigation, including experience in breach notifications to multiple regulators, customers, law enforcement agencies and impacted individuals
- Strong business acumen in privacy and data protection risk management and compliance/privacy functions within the complex health services environment with experience guiding senior business leaders
- Ability to travel to visit local operations and conduct in person reviews and training, as needed
- BA or BS required and JD preferred
- 7 or more years of legal and or privacy experience in health care (payor or provider)
- Management experience over privacy incident investigators preferred
- Strong computer skills including excel, power point and familiarity with other compliance and privacy tools
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
